Business analysis can be applied to any type of organization, industry, or domain, such as finance, healthcare, education, manufacturing, retail, or technology. Business analysis can also be performed at different levels of granularity, such as strategic, tactical, or operational.

Business analysis is not a one-time event, but rather an ongoing process that involves continuous learning, adaptation, and improvement. Business analysis is also not a solo effort, but rather a collaborative and communicative endeavour that involves working with various people and perspectives.

Benefits and Value of Business Analysis

Business analysis can provide many benefits and value to an organization and its stakeholders, such as:

  • Improving business performance. Business analysis can help analyse the current state of the business and identify the gaps, issues, or opportunities for improvement. Business analysis can also help design and implement solutions that optimize the business processes, resources, and outcomes.

  • Reducing costs and risks. Business analysis can help estimate the costs and benefits of different solutions and select the most feasible and viable one. Business analysis can also help identify and mitigate the potential risks and challenges that may arise during or after the solution implementation.

  • Increasing innovation and competitiveness. Business analysis can help foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the organization by encouraging new ideas, perspectives, and solutions. Business analysis can also help monitor the market trends and competitors’ activities and adapt accordingly.

welcome to the site. i created kevparkin.com to share my experiences of the change management cycle. change is about communication first and foremost. the textbooks talk a lot about systems, methods and the various diagrams and documenting tools that you can use to achieve everything from requirements gathering, to test and deployment of a technical solution. but very few of them go into any real detail about what it's like to work in change management on a day to day basis. i've had people cry on my shoulder and seen people carted out the door, i've seen near miracles happen and disasters. if a business analyst, project manager, scrum master, or agile coach ever tell you they haven't had a catastrophe then they are probably lying. so who is this blog targeted at? anyone really, but i wanted to create a resource that people who are interested in starting their career in change management would find useful so a lot of the posts will be targeted at beginners or people just wanting some tips of a guy who's been there, done it, and probably destroyed the t-shirt on a hot wash... you'll also find a bit of a background about me and my projects, there's a couple of references and reviews on here at the min but i hope to increase it over time. you can contact me via whatsapp if you're viewing the site on your phone, or via message. i'll try to respond to everything i'm sent in under 48 hours. anyway that's all for now, short and sweet! kev
